The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the approval of Trumenba, the meningococcal group B vaccine, to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. This is considered the first vaccine to be approved for this group of meningococcal disease, which accounts for 40% of meningococcal cases according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That will be an addition to the current meningococcal vaccines: A, C, Y and W groups. How do think this new approval would change the future of meningococcal disease?
