Niacin is in the news again. Recent research published in The New England Journal of Medicine failed to show reduction in cardiovascular disease and stroke risk associated with taking this B vitamin.  Scientists still noted a number of serious adverse effects including rash, flushing, itching, gout and muscle damage.
