Drug overdose has now surpassed motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of injury death. The FDA fast-tracked the approval of Evzio and turned the application around in just 15 weeks. The new naloxone auto injecting syringe will provide lifesaving treatment on the spot of opioid overdose. Currently, naloxone has to be administered intravenously by trained medical personnel. Patients at high risk of fatal opioid overdose can now equip themselves with Evzio. Even family members and friends of those with opioid addiction or are taking opioids for medical reasons will also be able to carry Evzio by obtaining a prescription. Among patients with narcotic prescriptions, who do you think are good candidates to carry this injector? #ipharm
