A new study looks at the link between food insecurity and medication affordability in patients with chronic diseases. Approximately one in three chronically ill patients have reported issues with maintaining food security or medication affordability, or both. Patients in the middle class, defined as 100-200% above the poverty line, seemed to most affected by this issue. What recommendations do you provide to your patients that struggle to afford their medications?
