New examination of previous research has revealed individuals who live in a home where there is access to a firearm are two to three times more likely to die of murder or suicide. In the review, nineteen studies were analyzed that were published between 1988 and 2005. Only one study out of the nineteen found that people with access to a gun had an increased risk of dying from suicide or homicide.
