In a phase I trial funded by the Department of Health for England and the Wellcome Trust, six patients with a rare inherited blindness known as choroideraemia received gene therapy in one eye. After six months, improvement in vision occurred in all six patients and two patients revealed significant results when asked to read from an eye chart. What are your thoughts about gene therapy?
