The FM/a test, a new blood test developed by EpicGenetics, could be the new diagnostic tool used in fibromyalgia according to research presented by the company at the annual meeting of the American College of Rheumatology. Since fibromyalgia is currently diagnosed after excluding other disease states, the new blood test would thus validate diagnosis in patients, according to the company. However, the test costs $744 which could initially limit its use to patients in which diagnosis is difficult. How often are you asked about fibromyalgia? What are your thoughts about this new test?
