A recent report published in the American Journal of Public Health, determined that 1 in 30 cancer deaths is caused by alcohol consumption. Although modest alcohol intake is linked to cardiovascular benefits, researchers found in this data that as little as 1.5 drinks per day may increase alcohol-associated cancer death. For those with a higher cancer risk, the reduction of alcohol use may be warranted. How do you approach the topic of safe alcohol consumption with your patients?
