A study published in this week’s JAMA Internal Medicine compared the care patients received for sinus infections and urinary tract infections from e-visits and office visits.  The study found that patients who had an e-visit were more likely to be prescribed antibiotics compared to patients going for in-person office visits.  A similar number of patients had a follow-up visit for the same condition in the next three weeks suggesting e-visits did not have higher rates of misdiagnosis and treatment failures.  Have e-visits been instituted in your area of practice?
