American_PrideThe majority of changes in the Affordable Healthcare Act, known as Obamacare, goes into effect in 2014 with some of them starting in 2013.  This year health care facilities and government offices will begin preparing for the full implementation of the Act. A number of states are currently working on health insurance exchange programs that will allow uninsured to compare different plans and understand the details of the plan they are signing up for. Other parts that go into effect this year include preventative services, increased Medicaid payments, pilot program for bundling services, Medicare tax increase, medical deductions, medical device tax, cap on Flexible Spending Accounts, benefits spelled out on the tax form.  What signs of preparation for the upcoming changes have you seen in your pharmacy or healthcare setting?
