A rare form of fungal meningitis may be linked to a steroid injection compounded at the New England Compounding Center (NECC). The rare form of fungal meningitis has infected more than 25 people, and has lead to four deaths. Prior to this outbreak, the NECC had received a warning letter from the FDA about potential contamination in 2006.   What measures should be taken at compounding pharmacies to ensure aseptic technique?
