DME is a common vision-threatening complication of diabetes causing blurred vision.  In clinical trials, 34-45% of patients receiving this once monthly injection gained at least three lines of vision compared with 12-18% of those receiving the control.  The most common side effects of the drug include bleeding of the conjunctiva, eye pain, floaters and increased intraocular pressure.   How often do you counsel your patients about receiving regular eye exams?
